I will say, though, that the idea of crippling your enemy and then forcing them to linger inside a deadly rain of fire...

Well... it seems like a good idea on paper!

Oh goodie, then we'll have attacks that do 400+ damage. Yeah, that's how GW's going to get balanced...from number inflation. Then again they may as well and just admit they gave up and/or suck at it.

PS: GW2's very existence is kinda an admission they gave up on balancing and maintenence of it anyways.

I meant to say with that statement that it would take a large number of programmers to 'fix' GW in the way that alot of people want would take way more programmers than are available to the GW team.

Any discussions of the batshit stats and damage numbers that'll be flying around in GW2 are probably best left for the GW2Guru.

Don't exaggerate. I farmed enough ectos this past summer from the Topk to pay for everything for my obby armor set. I would farm 10 ectos a day, and it usually took me a few hours (3-4) to do so. The drop rates havnt changed since then.

Exactly, and what he is saying is it used to be amazingly better which it did.
I believe the major hit to TOPK happened way before "This Past Summer"

How is this fun? What I was saying is people won't bother with the stuff you mentioned because they won't be rewarded. It is the reason why they have the HoM

This seems to me like a trolling thread with only one message: "Arenanet, make some update to keep me entertained"

And no, I didn't heard anyone saying "I'll play again, when...". People I know who leave, leave silently. They simply don't show up any more. They don't need to explain anything - they have done in GW all they wanted do and moved on.

I played for about 90 minutes last night completing secondary/optional factions quests that have been in my quest log for ages. Seems like there's always something else to do in game.

Funny thing was I go into this chasm I've never ventured into before just outside Kaineng Center just to explore. Leads me into the EotN intro with Vekk and Ogden, dumps me into Boreal Station. This is where the story of EotN starts off from Factions. Even though I completed EotN, I'd never entered it through Factions, so that was new and kind of neat.

Except people do, all the time. Record SC's, for instance. If you're saying "not a lot of people will do this," well, I'd respond that not a lot of people do any one thing in this game anymore. It's become a game of niches in pve.

I'll PvP again when there are Campaign specific arenas.
Core + Prophecies skill and characters arena would suit me just fine.

I'll PvE again when none of my Eve:Online war targets are online... about 1930 GMT for a guess.

Yet people manage to do it already, with their hands tied to their backs, blindfolded, and only using the tip of their erect penis to push a button.

Said otherwise, you do it wrong, find a nice guild, some people who know stuff about this game, make friends, and do it with them.

This.

I'd played since 2005 and wracked up thousands of hours cos I was hooked. I was a PvE'er, with rare excursions into ABs, and had experienced completing everything in the PvE game except the titles. I saw the big bot awareness threads popping up around xmas 2009 and as a person with an I.T. background looked into it and found it a refreshing challenge to write bots.

ANet can even thank botting for me purchasing a second account (also banned).

I do miss not being able to visit the visually appealing areas of the game again, but when bot-writing is more fun that the game itself I know I'd overstayed my welcome.

The trouble is, if I was un-banned I would not want to play without my bots, so we'd best leave it at it that.
